A nonprofit board serves an important role for the organization. Board members are ultimately responsible for the legal, fiduciary duty and best interest of WSNLA members.


The WSNLA Board of Directors is made meets quarterly throughout the year. They are responsible for setting policy, providing strategic direction and fiscal soundness of WSNLA. The Board of Directors is made of the Executive Board and Chapter Presidents & Caucus Representatives. WSNLA Board of Directors

WSNLA board members support the association, its vision and its work by lending expertise to help:

  • Raise public awareness about WSNLA and the services we provide to our members
  • Provide objective representation of our members’ interests in every sector of the horticulture industry
  • Ensure adequate resources are available and used effectively 

  • Determine WSNLA’s mission statement

  • Provide on-going support and guidance to WSNLA’s Executive staff

  • Ensure effective organizational planning

  • Monitor defined programs and services to ensure effective, high quality delivery

  Board Members are nominated and selected by chapters and caucuses to serve 1-year terms.


WSNLA Executive Committee 

The Executive committee reviews draft annual budget and make necessary alterations before the presentation to the entire Board and reviews WSNLA award nominees and select recipients. The Executive Committee meets at the request of the President, as needed.

WSNLA Executive Committee members serve a 4-year term. Treasurer serves a 2-year term. Traditionally the nominees for the Executive Committee come from individuals will experience serving on the WSNLA Board of Directors.


WSNLA Executive Committee positions include:

  • WSNLA President
  • WSNLA President Elect
  • WSNLA Vice President
  • WSNLA Treasurer
  • WSNLA Past President
  • WSNLA Executive Director


WSNLA Chapter Board President

Chapter board members facilitate monthly, quarterly, or annual meetings for members to network, gain education, promote their products and services, and communicate issues directly affecting member businesses. Chapter Board Members are selected by chapter members. One Year Term.

WSNLA Chapters, and their boundaries, include:

  • WSNLA Northwest Chapter - Northwestern Washington to north of Snohomish County, including Island County.
  • WSNLA Seattle Chapter - King County
  • WSNLA Mt Rainier Chapter - Pierce, Thurston & Lewis Counties
  • WSNLA Olympic Chapter - The Olympic Peninsula, south to Grays Harbor
  • WSNLA Southwest Chapter - All counties south and west of Lewis County
  • WSNLA North Central Chapter - North Central Washington, and north of the Columbia River
  • WSNLA South Central Chapter - Central Washington, and south of the Columbia River
  • WSNLA Spokane Chapter - The far Eastern side of the stat, north to south.


WSNLA Caucus Representative

Caucus Representatives bring industry specific elements to the board table and are required to hold 1 meeting per year. Caucus Representatives are selected by caucus members. One Year Term.

  • Retail Nursery Caucus
  • Wholesale Nursery Caucus
  • Greenhouse Grower Caucus
  • Landscape Caucus
  • Landscape Design Caucus
  • Horticultural Educator Caucus
  • Horticultural Supplier Caucus
  • Out of State Business Caucus

WSNLA Scholarship & Research Fund Board of Directors
This Board oversees the WSNLA Scholarship & Charitable Research Fund financial investments, and selects applicants to be awarded. The Board meets twice per year, and is responsible for management of the foundation that awards grants for horticulture study and research.  Board Members are appointed by the WSNLA Board of Directors.
