    Emerging Pests in the Landscape: What we know. What we’re doing, and tools available. 
    Learn about three insect pests that have recently invaded Western Washington - the southern green stink bug (Nazara viridula), European chafer (Rhizotrogus majalis) and the lily leaf beetle (Lilioceris lilii). The first reported occurrence of the lily leaf beetle on the west coast came from a gardener in Bellevue, Washington, in 2012. This summer WSDA will begin a biological control project to release parasitoid wasps that the invasive beetle.

    Balancing Landscape Pest Control with Environmental & Customer Expectations.
    The day to day management of landscape insects and diseases.
    Successful pest management means looking at the landscape as a whole. Learn about tried and true techniques, plus exciting new products available that are making landscape pest management more manageable. Successful pest management also includes client communication, so long term solutions are given some time to take hold. Specific insects and diseases, and their management, will be discussed.
