The Northwest Flower and Garden Festival is one of the most, if not THE most anticipated gardening related events each year. Tens of thousands of attendees flock to the Washington State Convention Center to cruise the gardens, collect treasures, learn from speakers and enjoy this harbinger of spring.

Each year the WSNLA Seattle Chapter & WALP (Washingtion Association of Landscape Professionals) 'co-host' a behind the scenes evening during the set up of the gardens as they are being created. Join us for this exclusive event!

Learn more about this year's gardens HERE.

We'll also hear from those that are part of the show: Lloyd Glasscock, CPH, and others will share insights about the NW Flower and Garden Festival.

Family, friends and colleagues are welcome to attend.

Ages 16 and over only.

$10/per person paid at the event - cash or check please.

If you are working on a garden on this day and have a work pass you may attend for free.

Remember the area will be under construction so you will be responsible for safely navigation among hoses, forklifts and piles of mulch. Show lighting will also be worked on among the gardens, so the lighting will be in flux.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

ABOUT THE 2019 WSNLA WINE GARDEN

          #Fakeation: 'Create Your Destination'

The 2019 Wine Garden is a fun twist on a "staycation" - where you are a tourist in your own town. But why leave the neighborhood? The "fakeation" recreates a modern luxury resort feel in your own backyard with bold colors, grandiose foliage, and dramatic textures.

Design Team Members:

Sally LaBay, DPH, Woods Creek Nursery

Kirsten Lints, CPH, Gardens ALIVE Design

Lucinday McMahan, CPH, Lucinda Landscapes

Smith Navda, Rooted in Landscape

Anju Neilju, CPH, Bhumi Darden Designs

Melissa Schafer, CPH, Schafer Specialty Landscape & Design

Garden Description:

Lounge in the inviting cabana and escape from the rest of the world in this tranquil landscape. Wander among luscious foliage. Pause to admire the artwork that inspires you to dream those dreams that stir the senses. Though small in stature, this garden is powerful in scale with novel use of bold foliage and exclusively available containers, sculptures and accents. It pushes the envelope on Pacific Northwest planting zones, incorporating tropical touches along with hardy plant varieties.

This garden is different from previous years with a team approach rather than having a designer or two take the lead. The team is made up of six WSNLA members with varying backgrounds but a common passion for seeing their ideas brought to life in a garden meant to inspire peace and relaxation.

You are invited to be an integral part of the team during set-up or tear-down.

Sign up opportunities are available by clicking this link.

The team would like to share our appreciation to the following for their generous assistance and contributions:

Camden Gardens

Tim Gray, Pacific Stone Company

Steve Carter, Weld-Tech

Gregory Smaus, CPH, EPC,  Rock Solid Landscapes
