Referrals. Wholesale and retail customers call the WSNLA office frequently in search of products and services. More and more, they are also using the searchable membership directory on our website. In addition, WSNLA promotes our members by distributing thousands of copies of our Membership Directory/Buyer’s Guide and Retail & Landscape Services Locator at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show and several other public and industry shows around the state.

Membership Directory & Buyer’s Guide. This is the annual publication industry professionals keep close at hand all year. It combines WSNLA member contact information with a buyer’s guide for plant material and supplies, and it’s easy to use. The Buyer’s Guide and a searchable membership database are also available on this website. For specs and rate information on display advertising and buyer’s guide entries, contact

Retail & Landscape Services Locator. And this is the annual booklet the public keeps close at hand all year. It combines detailed contact information about WSNLA member retail nurseries and garden centers, landscape professionals (designers, contractors, maintenance companies), and retail suppliers in Washington State, in a handy format complete with maps. All members are listed for free; display advertising and descriptive paragraphs are available for a nominal fee. Retail and landscape-related members can also be located via this website. Utility Tree Certificate program. This gift certificate program benefits retail nurseries and garden centers in the areas served by Snohomish Public Utility District, Puget Sound Energy and Seattle Public Utilities. When it becomes necessary for the utility to remove a tree on private property, the property owner is compensated with one or more certificates redeemable only at WSNLA member nurseries within the utility’s service area. Nurseries forward the certificates to the WSNLA office and are reimbursed the full face value of each certificate.
-
Japan Plant Trading Network. Started in 2000, this is a joint project with WSNLA, the Oregon Association of Nurserymen and the Departments of Agriculture in both states. The Network works to promote sales of Northwest-grown plant material to Japanese nurseries and to facilitate that process by working to remove trade barriers.
-
Arbor Day. As an active member of the Washington Arbor Day Council, WSNLA works statewide to build awareness of the value of trees to our environment and to promote Arbor Day celebrations. Because Arbor Day observances can increase sales, WSNLA also helps members plan, coordinate and publicize their own Arbor Day events. For more information about Arbor Day,
