Plant Services Specialist 2. There is one (1) full-time permanent position within the Plant Protection Division. This position will be located in Tacoma, Washington and covers East Pierce and South King Counties. The position requires occasional travel to other areas of the state. Preferred candidate to live in or re-locate near the Tacoma area. Plant Services Specialists enforce state and federal laws and regulations governing the handling, sale or shipment of nursery stock, bulbs, cut plant materials and fruit and vegetables in an assigned geographic area. As a designated cooperator with USDA, certifies plant products to the phystosanitary standards of importing countries. NOTE: As a condition of employment, this position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement. Retail Garden Center Manager - FARMINGTON GARDENS - A DIVISION OF ESHRAGHI NURSERY. Farmington Gardens, a premier retail nursery in Washington County, Oregon, is seeking a Retail Manager. Farmington Gardens is a full-service retail garden center that is open daily, specializing in a full compliment of outdoor trees, shrubs, perennials and bedding plants. We pride ourselves in superior customer care and product quality. The garden center is located in a unique rural setting, and occupies approximately seven acres. The Retail Manager is a key member of our executive team, and must be future-focused, as well as possessing exceptional leadership and communication skills. We are expanding, and need a creative individual who can work with us to continue to grow our business and increase our customer base and services provided. We work in a fast-paced environment, and require an individual that can thrive at that pace, but one that is also detail-oriented. Day-to-day responsibilities include: management of garden center operations including: supervision of up to 40 employees, oversight of purchasing hard and soft goods, event management and advertising, budgeting and marketing. The successful candidate must possess: Extensive, full-service retail nursery management experience, including customer service and sales, purchasing and marketing, quality control and budgeting. Extensive, supervisory and staff management experience, including hiring, scheduling, and training. Must be proficient in the use of computers, POS and inventory systems.
