Nestled in Tacoma's North End neighborhood, the University of Puget Sound's is recognized as a Tree Campus USA. On this walking tour guided by supervisor of grounds Barrett Tripp, a Certified Professional Horticulturist and ecoPRO, expect to hear about the sustainable landscape practices, irrigation issues and solutions, tree care management, philosophy behind plant selection, and engaging students in the campus grounds. Our tour date is strategically timed as the grounds crew has been dialing in the grounds for student move in the following week.
Our Tour Meeting Location
Wheelock Student Center patio area. For best access, you are recommended to park in the North lot, which is a short walk away from the student center. It is suggested you arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to allow for parking and walking. Click here to access a map of the campus. (Wheelock Student Center is identified as building number 54.)

Accessing the North Parking Lot
Access the North Lot by following Alder Street to the 15th Street entrance. Take a right on Lawrence and then a right into the North Lot, then walk down to the Wheelock student center.
Alternatively, you could also access the North Lot by following Union Street. Take a right on 18th Street. Right on N. Lawrence Street and then take a left into the North Lot.
